Solution "Study the construction of drug manufacturing technological process with ability to prevent opiatesubstances relapse".

Drug addiction is a major threat to society.Over the years, the Party and State always have had great concerns and taken anti-drug taking issues a priority in the implementation priority policies to stabilize and develop the country. Da Nang city with the "5 NOT" policy, of which one is not having drug addicts, which also partly reflects that important policy.

Drug addiction is considered a chronic disease that can be treated and the degree of success depends much on addict’swill and motivation to abandon the drug, the support of family and social community.
 Many detoxification methods have been applied, such as medicine using therapyas a substitution, harm reduction (Methadone therapy), using medicine made from herbs ... and non-drug therapies, such as physical exercise, acupuncture, acupressure ... But in fact, there is no extremely effective therapy yet, addiction relapse rate after detoxification is still relatively high, causing many difficulties for the drug prevention nationwide. Recently, one of the treatment directionsattracting manyconcerns from professionals is Opioid detoxification and antagonistic therapy with Naltrexone, combined effectively with psychotherapy, physical education. This is also the basis for selection and research of detoxification supporting medicine of Danapha Pharmaceutical JSC in implementing scientific research projects under the order of the People's Committee of Da Nang City in 2003.

The solution has resulted in successfully developing formula and technological process of manufacturing Natrex 50 product in form of tablets (Naltrexone 50mg) used to support detoxification and prevent the relapse of opiate substances. The productof the subject has met the quality standards of the US Pharmaceutical dictionary (USP 29), equivalent to importedmedicine from Europe with the price of about 60% of that imported medicine to provide for domestic demand of treatment. According to the statistical reports at the Centers having used this product (Natrex 50) such as Thanh Da Rehabilitation Centre (Ho Chi Minh city), the Center 05-06 of Dien Bien, SocTrang, Ba Ria ..., the results after using the drug show that the drug effectively reduces the drug relapse rate significantly when combined with psychotherapy and physical education.

 

The solution has brought the company average revenue of over 3 billion per year, but more importantly, this solution has helped many addicts to get rid of addiction status, reintegrate successfully with their family and society.
The solution was awarded the first prize in8thTechnical Innovation Contest by Da Nang People's Committee, and Creative Labor prize by the General Confederation of Labor.
